Dulcie chewed on the straw of her pop/soda as she watched the scenery pass by and placed her hand on the cold window as if she were trying to reach something. Suddenly, the public bus came to an abrupt halt, disrupting her thoughts. She dropped her pop on the empty seat next to her, letting the clear liquid seep into the cushion, and exited the bus. In the middle of a pretty little park stood an enormous pine tree-- this year's Christmas tree. Dulcie gazed up at the tree's gleaming lights, a small smile on her face. She looked down at the families beneath the trees, catching the face of a crying baby. The baby's parents quickly cuddled the baby as they did their best to shush its cries. A teenage girl sat near to the baby's parents, rolling her eyes. Probably their daughter. Dulcie's green eyes lowered, her small smile gone again.
